          Socio Economic and Spatial Study of Clare : 1991 to 2002

Launched on 6th March 2006, this study examines the main economic and social changes that have taken place in Clare over the period 1991 to 2002. A measure of how each of the electoral districts have performed in terms of their relative affluence and deprivation is developed. Four factors that have influenced the changes in the county are identified. These are

  • Urbanisation/sub urbanisation;
  • Rural regeneration;
  • Urban deprivation;
  • Rural deprivation.

The study concludes with a map of the county where these 4 factors are brought together.
