May Conference: 'Enhancing an Enterprise Culture - The Role of Local Authorities'

In response to the ever-changing role and range of services provided by Local Authorities in Ireland, Clare County Council is organising a conference entitled 'Enhancing an Enterprise Culture - The Role of Local Authorities'. This conference will be held on the 25th and 26th May 2006 in Ennis, Co. Clare.

The objective of the conference is to highlight the assistance that local authorities can provide to the key enterprise development agencies in their efforts to attract Foreign Direct Investment and in assisting local SME’s in their continued growth.

This conference will be particularly relevant to all local development agencies, local authorities, members of City/County Development Boards and public bodies. The conference will be opened by Mr Tony Killeen, T.D., Minister of State at the Department of Enterprise, Trade & Employment. Speakers include leading executives from the key enterprise agencies in Ireland including Mr Sean Dorgan, Chief Executive, IDA Ireland, Mr Frank Ryan, Chief Executive Officer, Enterprise Ireland and Mr Kevin Thompstone, Chief Executive Officer, Shannon Development. In addition, senior local authority management will examine how the partnerships can be strengthened to ensure that Ireland remains competitive in a rapidly changing global economy.
